Brilliant Apple Prints / Estampados de manzana brillantes

Apples are Ian’s favorite fruit so we always have plenty of them at home. Yesterday, I got a few extra for an art activity for Ian: Apple Prints decorated with glitter. They are easy and fun to do, and make a beautiful picture. I took this idea from the Childcare youtube channel.
Ian enjoys making the prints more rather than sprinkling the glitter over the wet paint. He used lots of papers; his bedroom floor was covered with them at the end.

Cookies for Aunty Kathy / Galletas para tia Kathy

Kathy is celiac and we have not been able to find many products gluten-free. So we decided to make our own rice cookies. It seemed a perfect opportunity for Ian to put into action his new practical skills. We wanted to do the maximum by himself so we sought an easy recipe and we put all the ingredients and utensils on Ian’s table. When he appeared in the kitchen, he was immediately ready to work, as if he knew exactly what to do. We only gave him instructions of what to do next (ok, I couldn’t avoid trying to help a little a couple of times, but Kathy reminded me not to intervene). Ian worked with great care and attention, providing a very nice spectacle. What surprised us most was his ability to use the spatula to take the biscuits off the table, moving them toward the cookie tray and placing them carefully, all of this without us giving him a demonstration. It was great.
