Sticks effect / El efecto de la clave

We used to have music time more than once a week. We just play some of Ian’s favorite CDs (at this moment Pop Go The Wiggles and Wee Sing Nursery Rhymes and Lullabies). Ian asks to play it many times and he always dances and repeats the numbers very loudly. And when we bought “maracas” (see the photo below) he went nuts.

Solíamos tener un momento musical más de una vez por semana. Solo poníamos algunos de los CDs favoritos de Ian (en este momento, Pop Pop Go The Wiggles and Wee Sing Nursery Rhymes and Lullabies). La canción favorita de Ian era This Old Man, el pedía que la repitiéramos muchísimas veces y siempre bailaba muy feliz y decía los números (que son parte de la letra de la canción) muy fuerte.
Cuando compramos maracas el se volvía loco tocándolas (precioso).

I was excited and though he would enjoy other instruments just the same. When we had them, he wanted to play the rhythm sticks, he tried and tried but he couldn’t coordinate his movements to play them, nor would he let me teach him; that made him really sad and ever since then he does not enjoy our music times. I took way the sticks; but he seems to remember them and he always looks for them in the instrument box and then he gets crestfallen and does not want to participate anymore. I think we’ll keep having our music times but without instruments for a while.

Yo estuve muy emocionada y pensé que disfrutaría igual con nuevos instrumentos. Cuando los tuvimos, él quiso tocar la clave (palitos para mi ), lo intento varias veces pero no pudo coordinar sus movimientos para hacerlo y tampoco me permitió enseñarle y se puso realmente triste por eso y desde entonces no disfruta de nuestra música. He guardado la clave; pero parece que el la recuerda aun y siempre parece estar buscándolos en la cajita de instrumentos, luego se pone cabizbajo y no quiere participar más. Creo que vamos a continuar con nuestros momentos musicales, pero sin instrumentos (por algún tiempo).
